Travel to the Rhineland

Coach to Germany.

Your coach will collect your group from school and travel to Germany via the Dover to Calais ferry. On arrival you will check into your hotel in a Rhine or Moselle town such as Boppard or Koblenz, with a free evening and an evening meal in your hotel.

Day 2

Boppard and a castle

The Boppard Chairlift and Marksburg Castle.

After breakfast you will take the Boppard Chairlift to the Gedeon's Corner and Four Lakes viewpoints for stunning views over the Rhine. In the afternoon you will visit Marksburg Castle, the best-preserved medieval castle on the Rhine, before returning to your hotel for an evening meal.

Day 3

The Rhine and Rheinfels

A river cruise and Castle Rheinfels.

After breakfast you will enjoy a Rhine cruise from Boppard to St Goar, taking in the castles and vineyards of the river valley. You will then explore Castle Rheinfels, the mighty ruined fortress above St Goar, before returning to your hotel for an evening meal.

Day 4

Koblenz

The Deutsches Eck and Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.

After breakfast you will travel to Koblenz to see the Deutsches Eck, where the Rhine and Moselle meet, before taking the cable car up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress for panoramic views over the valley. Alternatively, you could spend the day at Phantasialand theme park, before an evening meal.

Day 5

The journey home

Return to school.

After breakfast at your hotel, you will make the return journey to school by coach.
