- Geneva Hostel was excellent. The food was very good, the staff were very helpful and the rooms were very comfortable. The only drawback is that the building has large, concrete hallways and stairwells which means that sound echoes. Our pupils were largely quiet after 10pm but a colleague of mine was kept awake until the early hours by students from another group.
I would not recommend the Stettler chocolate factory tour. The chocolatier who gave the talk had a strong French accent which our pupils found hard to follow and so they got bored.
Geneva is an excellent destination for a school trip. Public transport is fantastic and free, thanks to the Geneva travel pass obtained at the hostel. During the trip, out pupils went on planes, trains, trams, buses and boats.
The pupils all enjoyed CERN and found it very interesting. We also visited the Red Cross Museum and the United Nations.
Geneva is expensive but the hostel is near a Lidl which was great for making our own packed lunches.
The staff at Adaptable Travel were very helpful and patient.
