Adaptable Travel can tailor-make any itinerary to suit the needs of your group. Below is a suggested itinerary for English/Drama/History/Enrichment school trip groups to Stratford-upon-Avon

Day 1: Exploring Warwick / Stratford upon Avon. Morning: -Depart from school via coach. Arrive in Warwick. Warwick Castle Adventure: Immerse your students in history as you explore the majestic Warwick Castle. Discover the castle's rich past and it's beautiful gardens, and watch live re-enactments of historic events. Afternoon: If you opted for Stratford upon Avon instead, take a short drive to Shakespeare's hometown. Engage in a walking tour of the historic town, visiting landmarks such as Shakespeare's birthplace, Anne Hathaway's cottage, and the iconic RSC theatre. Evening: Pre-booked dinner at Pizza Express or a similar restaurant nearby. Head to the accommodation near Birmingham to settle in and rest.

Depart school by coach. Students are advised to bring a packed lunch for the journey.
Arrive at Warwick Castle and step back in time with grand medieval towers, lavish interiors, and live historical reenactments.
Lunch – eat your own packed lunch at designate picnic spot in Warwick castle (lunch not included).
Coach transfer to accommodation for check-in.
Coach transfer to evening meal at a local restaurant (2-courses).
Return by coach to your accommodation.

Birmingham's Best. Breakfast at the accommodation. Head to Cadbury World: Delve into the world of chocolate! Learn about the chocolate-making process and the history of Cadbury, and of course, enjoy some chocolatey treats. Afternoon: Visit ThinkTank, Birmingham Science Museum: Dive into the world of science and discovery. Explore everything from locomotives and aircraft to the intriguing future of robotics and AI. You may have some free time to shop at the amazing Bullring centre. Evening: Pre-booked dinner at a local restaurant. Return to accommodation for relaxation and overnight stay.

Breakfast at your accommodation and board coach.
Full day at Alton Towers Resort – enjoy world-class rollercoasters, family rides, and themed attractions.
Lunch ( not included – own arrangements). Various options to buy lunch in the park, or add in a packed lunch at a supplement.
Coach transfer to restaurant for evening meal at local restaurant (2-courses).
Return coach transfer back to accommodation.

Thrills at Alton Towers. Morning: After breakfast, head to Alton Towers: Dive into a world of excitement, with thrilling roller coasters, enchanting rides, and captivating live entertainment suitable for all ages. Afternoon: Continue the exploration of Alton Towers. Perhaps visit the water park or engage in some of the interactive live shows. Following a day at the park, board the coach and journey back to school.

Breakfast and check-out. Load Luggage onto coach.
Coach transfer to Think Tank Birmingham Science Museum for self-guided visit of the hand-on science exhibits and planetarium show.
Lunch not included – enroute to Cadbury World, coach can stop to pick up lunch options or add in a packed lunch at a supplement.
Coach drop at Cadbury World – discover the story of chocolate with fun interactive zones and sweet tasting experiences.
Return journey to school by coach.

Midlands School Trips

What is your minimum group size?

Our minium group size for all educational tours is a least 20 paying passengers.

What supervision ratios are followed during the trip?

Trips typically follow government or school policy ratios (e.g., 1 adult to 10 students), but we can adapt based on your school's requirements. These ratios are always clearly stated in your quotation.

Are inspection visits offered before trip approval?

We are able to offer inspection visits for non-UK destinations. Especially for high-value or complex trips (e.g., CERN, Krakow), inspection visits can be arranged or supported. This should be discussed early in the planning process.

Adaptable Travel understands that taking a group of students somewhere for the first time can be daunting. In addition, you may have mandatory health and safety criteria within your school or LEA that require firsthand knowledge of the destination. That is why we aim to make it possible for you to visit the destination of your school trip before you take your students.

We can include 2 nights’ accommodation at your booked destination on a B&B basis in a twin room on request (for non-UK destinations).

Helpful Tips on your Inspection Visit

Two heads are better than one.
Familiarise yourself with the layout of the accommodation and the areas you plan to visit and consider what problems they may give any individual as well as the group.
Confirm your control measures will work and be effective.
Select appropriate meeting points for your group for each activity if needed.
With your group in mind, look out for potential trouble spots and make a note of any “out of bounds” areas.
Note down useful telephone numbers such as emergency services etc.
Visit the nearest tourist office

Are risk assessments provided for all activities and accommodations?

We provide comprehensive risk assessments and statements for:

Transport
Accommodation
Destination Managment Agencies (where applicable)
Each activity arranged by Adaptable Travel

These documents can be included with your SLT proposal.

Are sample itineraries available in editable formats for SLT proposal submissions?

Yes. We can provide itineraries in Word or PDF format, with optional editable fields. If your SLT has specific formatting requirements, let us know—we’re happy to adapt.

How long can trip options (e.g., flights/accommodation) be held without payment?

It varies by destination and season, but typically 2–4 weeks. We can sometimes extend these deadlines, but approval delays (especially over holidays) can jeopardize availability and pricing.

We understand that internal approvals can take time. We can:

Hold quotes and availability for as long as possible.
Extend deadlines where feasible — just let us know your internal timeline.
Provide updated quotes if prices change due to delays.

Is insurance and included in the trip package?

Travel insurance can be added the package and covers both students and staff.

It is not included as standard since we find many schools general insurance policy already includes school trips. So we suggest you check if your school insurance policy covers school trips. If not we make it simple to add it to your tour.
