Arrival and a canal cruise

Fly to Amsterdam and check in.

You will fly from the UK to Amsterdam and transfer by coach to your hotel to check in, storing luggage if you arrive before check-in.

A traditional canal boat cruise.

As an introduction to the city, your group will enjoy a Canal Boat Cruise through Amsterdam's iconic canals, ideal for sketching bridges, gables and urban life from new angles.

An evening meal.

You will have a two-course evening meal at a local restaurant. Throughout the tour you will travel on foot or by public transport to your visits, with tickets bought locally.

Day 2

Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum

A morning at the Van Gogh Museum.

You will visit the Van Gogh Museum and trace Van Gogh's stylistic journey through works such as Sunflowers and The Bedroom, alongside his letters and personal artefacts.

Lunch at Museumplein.

There is time for lunch (own arrangements), with the lawn at Museumplein a good spot.

An afternoon at the Rijksmuseum.

In the afternoon you will visit the Rijksmuseum, home to Dutch Golden Age masterpieces including Rembrandt's The Night Watch and Vermeer's The Milkmaid.

An evening meal.

You will have a two-course evening meal at a local restaurant.

Day 3

This is Holland, Moco and Stedelijk

A morning at This is Holland.

You will start at This is Holland, a domed-screen flying experience offering spectacular perspectives of the Netherlands.

The Moco Museum.

You will then take a 90-minute guided tour of the Moco Museum, known for vibrant modern and contemporary works by artists such as Banksy, Keith Haring and Yayoi Kusama.

Lunch at Westerpark.

There is time for lunch (own arrangements); pick something up on Haarlemmerstraat and enjoy it in Westerpark.

The Stedelijk Museum.

In the afternoon you will visit the Stedelijk Museum, diving into modern and contemporary works including Warhol, De Kooning, Mondrian and De Stijl design.

An evening meal.

You will have a two-course evening meal at a local restaurant.

Day 4

Jordaan galleries and home

The galleries of the Jordaan.

After breakfast and check out, you could explore the independent galleries of the Jordaan; many offer free exhibitions and beautiful displays (self-led, no entrances included).

The journey home.

You will then meet your coach and transfer to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
