Arrival and the Bernabeu

Fly to Madrid and the Santiago Bernabeu.

You will fly from the UK to Madrid, with a coach transfer stopping at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium for a guided visit of Real Madrid's legendary ground, before continuing to your accommodation to check in and enjoy a two-course evening meal.

Day 2

The Golden Triangle

The Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Prado.

After breakfast you will explore the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, spanning the early Italian Renaissance to 20th century Pop Art, then visit the Prado Museum, home to masters such as Velazquez, Goya and El Greco.

An evening of tapas.

In the evening you will enjoy a guided Tapas Walking Tour with tapas tasting for an authentic Spanish experience.

Day 3

Palaces and modern art

The Royal Palace and Reina Sofia.

You will visit the Royal Palace of Madrid, with its lavish interiors and art collections, with a short walk to Almudena Cathedral to view from outside. You will then head to the Reina Sofia Museum, home to Picasso's Guernica and works by Dali and Miro.

A flamenco evening.

In the evening you will enjoy a flamenco show with a two-course evening meal.

Day 4

The journey home

El Retiro Park and home.

After breakfast and check out you will enjoy a relaxed self-led sketching session in El Retiro Park, taking in the Crystal Palace, lake and gardens, before your coach transfer to the airport and return flight to the UK.
