Suggested Itinerary

Below is a suggested study trip itinerary for art groups. However, Adaptable Travel will be happy to tailor your study trip accordingly.

Your group will head towards the airport to board your outgoing flight to Berlin, upon arrival in Berlin you will then transfer to your chosen accommodation and check-in. Once you have checked in and settled into your home away from home you will have some free time to explore Berlin before an evening meal at the accommodation or a local restaurant.

Fly from the UK to Berlin
Coach transfer to your accommodation and check-in.
Make your way around Berlin using your inclusive public transport passes. You can also choose to add in coach hire at a supplement if preferred.
Begin your Berlin experience with a 3-hour guided walking tour of the city’s artistic, cultural and historic highlights. Key sights include Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag (exterior), Checkpoint Charlie and the Berlin Wall.
Enjoy an evening meal at your accommodation (2-course).
Evening visit to the Reichstag roof top terrace and glass dome to view the city at night. Complimentary audio guides are provided for a commentary as you walk up the glass dome spiral ramp (school’s must book their free online visit slot directly).

Breakfast will be served in your accommodation before a jam-packed day of exploring. Your group will have their first visit at the Pool Gallery, before breaking for some lunch in the afternoon. After lunch, you will travel by coach to Berlin TV Tower and take a ride to the very top of the tower for a fantastic view of the city and all that’s left to explore! Your evening will be free for your own activities, or we can help you plan some great group activities in the area, simply let us know. You will then enjoy an evening meal as a group.

Make your way around Berlin using your inclusive public transport passes. You can also choose to add in coach hire at a supplement if preferred.
Visit the Berlinische Galerie, a museum of modern art, photography, and architecture focused on Berlin’s artistic movements from the 20th century to today.
Lunch (not included – own arrangement). Free time for lunch nearby – plenty of cafés and bakeries in the area.
Visit the Alte Nationalgalerie on Museum Island, housing 19th-century masterpieces by German Romantics, Impressionists, and Symbolists.
Enjoy your evening meal at your accommodation (2-course).
Round off the day with a fun and active evening at a local bowling alley (2 games of bowling included).

Breakfast will be served at the hotel as usual before a visit to the KW Institute for Contemporary Art. After a great morning exploring some fantastic pieces, your group will have worked up an appetite for some lunch, cue just that! As well as a little time to relax After a small break your group will transfer to the Reichstag Parliament Building for a tour of the German Parliament Building Dome. Next stop, a guided tour of Berlin! This includes a look at the infamous Berlin wall and how this has transformed into a public canvas of expression. In the evening, prior to your group meal you may

Visit Hamburger Bahnhof – Berlin’s national gallery for contemporary art. Located in a converted train station, the museum features works by leading artists such as Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, and Roy Lichtenstein.
Lunch (not included – own arrangement). Free time for lunch nearby – plenty of cafés and bakeries in the area.
Olympic Stadium for a guided tour – Discover the legacy of this iconic stadium, originally built for the 1936 Olympic Games.
Enjoy your evening meal at local restaurant (2-course)
Visit to the TV Tower (Fernsehturm) and enjoy a lift ride to top of the TV Tower for a dazzling 360° nighttime panorama of the city.

After breakfast, it’s time to check out of the hotel. Depending on your travel times you may have some free time for a final explore and a chance to pick up a souvenir or two for those back home! Your group will transfer to Berlin Airport to board your return flight to the UK and travel back to your school or drop off point.

Make your way around Berlin using your inclusive public transport passes. You also have the option to extend your coach transfer to the airport at a supplement, perfect for adding an extra visit enroute.
Visit the Helmut photography museum, explore a fascinating collection of works by the renowned fashion photographer, known for his stylish black-and-white imagery.
Depending on flight timings you may have more free time for last minute shopping or to enjoy a relaxed sketching session in one of Berlin’s green spaces, such as Monbijou Park or the Lustgarten, near Museum Island.
Meet coach back at accommodation and transfer to airport.
Return flight to the UK.
