Potsdam is a former royal city brimming with historical significance. A day trip to Potsdam offers a rich and immersive extension of the educational experience and gives students a broader view of Germany’s diverse heritage—from imperial grandeur to Cold War diplomacy.

Travelling to Postdam is simple: just 45–60 minutes from Berlin and is covered by the Berlin Transport Pass. Coach hire can also be arranged if this is preferred.

In Postdam:

  • Sanssouci Palace - a unique opportunity to explore the heart of Prussian heritage and Enlightenment thinking. Students can enjoy a 75 minute tour of the palace using a multilingual audio guide (available in English or German).
  • Neues Palais which is also located in this same park, offers school groups a compelling insight into Prussia’s grandeur at the height of its power. Located at the western end of Sanssouci Park, this impressive baroque palace was commissioned by Frederick the Great as a display of royal strength following the Seven Years’ War. A 75 minute guided tour (available in English or German) brings history to life through stories of royal ceremony and artistic extravagance.
