KW Institute for Contemporary Art

KW Institute for Contemporary Art opened in the late 1990’s with the aim of tackling cultural questions of the modern world through the display, production and promotion of contemporary arts. Since its opening more than 25 years ago has developed itself as a dynamic and unique ‘laboratory’ for communicating and advancing contemporary cultural developments in Berlin, wider Germany and abroad. The KW Institute for Modern Art achieves this through exhibitions, workshops, and studios dedicated to resident artists, as well as collaborative works with artists, groups and institutes and commissioned art works. Although KW has no collection of its own the experimentation and production allow it to maintain flexibility and create programs tailored to the questions being asked and the audiences asking them. This visit is the perfect opportunity for inquisitive art students on the hunt for some inspiration and creative flare to immerse themselves in modern contemporary art.
