Travel and a hands-on welcome

The MAD Museum and the Butterfly Farm.

You will depart school by coach, with students advised to bring a packed lunch for the journey. On arrival in Stratford-upon-Avon you will visit the MAD Museum, a fun, hands-on experience of mechanical art and design where students explore machines, moving sculptures and clever inventions, combining engineering, design and art. You will then visit the Stratford Butterfly Farm, stepping into a tropical world full of colourful butterflies and fascinating insects to learn about their life cycles and habitats. You will transfer to your accommodation to check in and enjoy a two-course evening meal.

Shakespeare's Stratford and the river

The Birthplace, New Place and a river cruise.

After breakfast you will pick up your packed lunch. Using your Shakespeare's Story Ticket, you will visit Shakespeare's Birthplace to explore the house where he was born, then walk to New Place, the garden site of his final home with its contemporary sculptures. You will head to Bancroft Gardens to enjoy your packed lunch by the river, before a River Avon boat cruise, a gentle guided ride sharing stories of the river and its wildlife, Stratford's history and Shakespeare's life and the town's famous buildings, subject to weather and season.

A Tudor schoolroom and a ghost walk.

You will visit Shakespeare's Schoolroom and Guildhall to experience life as a Tudor schoolchild, sitting at original desks, writing with quills and taking part in a fun, historic lesson where Shakespeare once learned. After a two-course evening meal you will enjoy the Stratford Evening Ghost Walk, a family-friendly walk filled with fun stories, legends and quirky facts about Stratford's past, before returning to your accommodation.

Warwick Castle and home

Warwick Castle and the journey home.

After breakfast you will pick up your packed lunch and check out, loading your luggage onto the coach. You will then transfer to Warwick Castle to explore the castle and its grounds, with plenty of picnic spots to enjoy your packed lunch, before your return coach journey to school.
