Suggested Itinerary
Adaptable Travel can help you arrange the perfect bespoke primary school trip to Cornwall & The West Country, we have compiled a suggested itinerary which details the typical school trip experience we offer for this destination.
Travel and the Eden Project
Depart and the Eden Project.
You will depart school and travel to Cornwall, bringing a packed lunch for the journey. You will visit the Eden Project to explore its dramatic biomes filled with rainforest and Mediterranean plants, plus sustainability exhibits, with a workshop included. You will then continue to your accommodation to check in for an evening meal. There is no further use of the coach this evening due to driver's hours, so we recommend organising your own activity such as a quiz night.
Seals and Heligan
The Cornish Seal Sanctuary and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
After breakfast you will collect a packed lunch and travel by coach to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary to learn about marine wildlife rescue, then continue to the Lost Gardens of Heligan to explore the woodland trails and large play area, enjoying your packed lunch at the gardens, before returning to your accommodation for dinner.
St Michael's Mount and Geevor
St Michael's Mount.
After breakfast you will collect a packed lunch and transfer to St Michael's Mount, crossing by ferry boat and returning the same way if tides allow, otherwise walking one way across the causeway. You will explore the medieval castle and its dramatic coastal views, with the gardens closed on Sundays, and enjoy your packed lunch at Marazion beach or causeway.
Geevor Tin Mine.
You will then transfer to Geevor Tin Mine for a guided tour underground and a sensory tour of selected surface buildings, with the chance to learn how to pan for gems through an optional workshop, before returning for an evening meal and a visit to a local beach.
Newquay Zoo and home
Newquay Zoo and the journey home.
After breakfast you will collect a packed lunch, check out and travel home via Newquay Zoo, home to over 100 animal species. You will enjoy your lunch at one of the zoo's picnic spots before your return coach journey to school.
