The Scottish capital city is home to numerous places of interest to students such as the Scottish Parliament and one of the most famous and enchanting castles in the UK; Edinburgh Castle.
This mesmerizing city is awash with fantastic museums, galleries and historic buildings giving Edinburgh its wide appeal and making it a popular destination for primary pupils. Amongst these engaging visits are the magnificent National Museum of Scotland and the museum housed in Edinburgh Castle itself.
Alongside its historic buildings and museums, Edinburgh is a fantastically cultural city and a haven for modern shops and opportunities to purchase keepsakes famous to the area such as cashmere. Hop on board a coach from your school and let the journey begin!
En route to Edinburgh your group will travel via the Forth Road Bridges for photo opportunities, and even the chance to cross the new Queensferry bridge should you have the time to spare. While in Queensferry your group can pay a visit to Deep Sea World and explore one of Europe’s largest aquariums.
Once you have explored the very depths of Deep Sea World you will board the coach once more and continue your journey.
On arrival at your accommodation, you can check in and spend some time settling into your rooms before an evening meal in Edinburgh with your group.
After breakfast, your group will take a trip to the magnificent and enchanting Edinburgh Castle which towers over the city and its cobbled streets below. Once you have explored every nook and cranny of the castle you will have some lunch in Edinburgh.
After lunch you will explore the haunted alleyways of Edinburgh on a Ghost Walking tour, listening to the ghostly goings-on and sinister tales of Edinburgh’s past.
Why not finish off the day with a visit to one of Edinburgh’s fascinating and unique museums such as the Museum of Childhood, where you can get to grips with the “it” toys of yesteryear.
After a jam-packed day, your group will enjoy an evening meal in Edinburgh.
After finishing breakfast your group will check out of your hotel and take a trip to the fascinating Camera Obscura where you can experience mind-bending optical illusions, dizzying 3D photography and breath-taking views of the city.
Depending on the length of your visit you may have time to pay a visit to the fantastic Edinburgh Zoo before your journey home.
Board the coach to head back to your school and share your stories with everyone at home!
