Spanning nearly 900 years of history, the Palace of Holyroodhouse has transformed from an Augustinian monastery into the official Scottish residence of the Monarch.

In this facilitated 2-hour session, students step into the spots where history was made — from the ruins of Holyrood Abbey to the State Apartments — and assume the role of a Palace Curator. Using primary sources, paintings and objects, they will investigate stories of royal residents including Robert the Bruce, Mary, Queen of Scots, Bonnie Prince Charlie and Queen Victoria.

Access is included to key rooms such as Mary’s Bedchamber, the Great Gallery, Royal Dining Room and the Abbey Strand Learning Centre.

*Available on weekdays during British term time.
