Boscastle

Boscastle gives students a hands-on way to read a landscape.

Tucked into a sheltered natural inlet on the north Cornish coast, Boscastle is an unspoilt harbour village. Once a busy fishing and trading port, the harbour is now quiet but still dramatic, with the South West Coast Path running right through it. The village also has a story of recovery: it rose from the rubble of a flood, and your students can see how it has been rebuilt. From the harbour, your group can climb to the Willapark clifftop and its lookout building for wide views back over the inlet.

Forrabury Stitches is a rare medieval field system that is still farmed today. The Valency Valley is an ancient woodland full of wildlife.
