Once your group has arrived at Naples airport, you will meet your coach then visit the Naples Underground Cisterns. Here you will meet your guide and undertake a guided tour of Naples. Your group will be transferred to your hotel in Sorrento. Evening meal.
Breakfast. Today’s visit is about the destructive power of Mt Vesuvius, as you visit Vesuvius. Categorized as potentially one of the most dangerous active volcanos, students will explore and learn about its formation and eruption history. Your trip will be linked by a visit to Pompeii to uncover the effects of the eruption in 79AD. Evening meal.
Breakfast. Meet your guide. Today the trip's focus returns to plate tectonics with a visit to Campei Flegrei National Park (Phlegraean Fields). This 15km wide caldera, is an active volcanic system offering the opportunity to witness various volcanic features, including the Solfatara fumarolic field, Monte Nuovo caldera and the evident bradyseism. Afterwards your group will be taken onto Herculaneum to see the affects of the 79AD eruption of Mt Vesuvius. Evening meal.
Breakfast. Check out of accommodation. Depart hotel by coach for transfer to the airport. Return flights back to the UK. Arrange your own way home.
