Suggested Itinerary

Below is an example itinerary that many of our groups choose to use as a basis for their Iceland school trip. However, Adaptable Travel are happy to tailor-make your trip and will work with you to create your bespoke school trip to Iceland.

After arriving in Iceland, you will be transferred to the amazing Blue Lagoon with free time to relax in the mineral-rich waters of this man-made geothermal phenomenon. Afterward, you will head onto your accommodation.

Today your students will have the chance to explore the North American and Eurasian tectonic plate boundary in Pingvellir, the triple-drop Gullfoss waterfalls, geothermal power, and the original Geysir on a guided ‘Golden Circle’ day tour.

The guided ‘South Shore’ adventure today will allow students to explore natural hazards with the recently erupted Eyjafjallajokull Volcano, two magnificent waterfalls (Skogar and Seljalandsfoss), visit the Solheimajokull Glacier and see the fascinating Dyrholaey rock formations. You can also add on glacier walking with crampons and a guide to add that extra wow-factor.

Today students will enjoy an amazing trip with a guide lava caving, discovering up close about the geology and processes of an Icelandic lava tube.

You may have some free time before your return to the UK.
