South Shore (Approx 10hrs)
Take your group on an unforgettable journey along Iceland’s dramatic South Coast, where volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls and black sand beaches create one of the country’s most iconic landscapes.
The adventure begins in Hveragerði, a geothermal town famous for its steaming earth and innovative greenhouses (entrance fees apply). From here, travel beneath the watchful presence of two of Iceland’s most famous volcanoes; Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull.
Next. stand at the glacier snout of the Sólheimajökull glacier. For groups wanting an even closer encounter it is possible book a guided Glacier Hike to walk over the glacier forefield to get a closer look ('Glacier Hike add-on').
Visit two of Iceland’s most spectacular waterfalls, Seljalandsfoss and Skogarfoss. At Seljalandsfoss waterfall students can walk behind the cascading water for a truly immersive experience. Then marvel at the much photographed Skógafoss waterfall, which has an impressive 60 m drop (196 ft).
The journey continues to the dramatic black sand beaches near Dyrhólaey, where towering cliffs and sweeping ocean views reveal striking coastal formations including arches, stacks and sea stumps.
Finally, visit the charming and remote village of Vík í Mýrdal, nestled beneath rugged cliffs and surrounded by volcanic landscapes, before returning to Reykjavík along this unforgettable stretch of coastline.
