• Eyjafjallajökull Volcano Visitor centre, at the foot of the volcano, groups feel first-hand what it is like to have a huge volcano looming over them. A short, 20 minute, film portrays the spectacular natural event of the 2011 errupton, and the hectic times and incredible challenges met by the family farm of Thorvaldseyri.
• Guided glacier hike at Sólheimajökull glacier. You will walk on Solheimajokull glacier, which is a part of the Myrdalsjökull glacier, on the south coast of Iceland. It is about 30 - 40 min walk from the base on road 221 to the glacier. You will head onto the glacier to experience this unique environment and look upon some amazing terrain, which include crevasses, sink holes, and ice ridges, after a safety briefing and a lesson in ice walking. Specialist guide and equipment included.
• Skógar Folk Museum offers pupils an immersive experience into the nation's cultural and technological heritage. The museum comprises three main sections: Folk Museum: Showcasing over 15,000 artifacts. Open Air Museum: Featuring restored historical buildings. Technical Museum: Highlighting the development of transport, communication, and technology in Iceland from the 19th century onwards.
• Ice Cave Tour – Katla – Katla Volcano. An extraordinary outdoor adventure beneath one of Iceland’s most powerful natural features on an Ice Cave Tour at Katla Volcano within the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Accompanied by expert guides, students will explore the caves’ spectacular blue corridors and ice formations, witnessing how ice, water and geothermal heat shape this striking environment.
