Bespoke School Trips to

York

As a city that was founded as part of the Roman Empire and later went on to be the Roman Capital of the country, York is truly a city moulded by the Roman Empire from day one, a presence that is still felt in areas of the city today.

York is home to some of the UK’s best examples of Roman remains, despite only a small percentage of remains and ruins actually uncovered. Serving as the perfect basecamp for your Roman school trips and the perfect opportunity to explore how this historic civilisation shaped the world we live in today, discovering the key sites in the city and in nearby Northern England. Through visits and unique experiences, you and your students can explore the amazing ancient presence rooted in this quaint English city and how this presence radiated through much of Northern England.

As a major element of KS1 and KS2 curriculums there’s no better region for your students to bring Roman history to life and step into an immersive exploration of this iconic ancient superpower. Interactive and visual experiences will strengthen your students’ grasps of the topic and allow them to relate aspects of Roman life to many of the modern adaptations still used in their everyday lives today. As an accessible and safe city with excellent links to other sites further North, York provides the perfect quaintly quiet yet historically engaging basecamp for your students to explore this fantastic topic.
