Belfast is the Capital of Northern Ireland and therefore has a lot to offer in terms of history and Irish culture. Its seamless integration of breath-taking modern architecture alongside beautiful heritage sites makes for a unique, vibrant city that is just waiting to be explored.
One of the most notable periods of Northern Irish history was during The Troubles (1960s–1998). Belfast is scattered with memories of the troubles, from artworks and memorials to 'peace lines', there is so much important history to see and learn about here in Belfast.
The city is perhaps most famous for its role in the creation of the RMS Titanic, The Dockyards from which the ship was built have been preserved and a brand new centre has recently been opened to tell the story of the Titanic from its birth to the unfortunate maiden voyage. We recommend you visit the dockyards which are an important part of the city’s history.Belfast has seen a remarkable turnaround in recent years and is fast becoming a tourist hotspot.
