Budapest History

Prices from: £235 (Based on 4 Days, 3 Nights)

School trips to Budapest offer an interesting perspective on History studies, having only relatively recently left the Communist regime of the Soviet Union.

Signs of the Communist legacy are all around Budapest to this day, no more clear than on the beautiful sub-way system which remains 'Communist' in its' appearance.

Yet, Budapest offers a great deal more for History groups, from the beautiful architecture and Castle of the old Buda district, to the world famous Parliament Building, to some fantastic museums including House of Terror, Statue Park and the Hungarian National Museum.

In addition to fantastic History learning resources all around, Budapest is a city with a charm like no other, with the mighty Danube flowing through its heart, majestic castles that overlook the city, fairy tale like ice skating in the open air of the park, and an easy to navigate footprint that sprawls along the river side.

Accommodation let this tour down, the tour guide was brilliant and the visits good value for money - I just wouldn't recommend this hotel to other guests.

Yet another successful trip, everything ran smoothly, the destination is fantastic and locals more friendly than expected. There is lots to see and do in Budapest, certainly an ideal destination for a tourism student group, not only due to the attractions & its heritage but the ease of travelling around the city on public transport or just to walk around. The staff at the accommodation were so welcoming and extremely helpful, providing lots of useful visitor information and guidance to the group.
