Discover the natural world through science, exploration and discovery with a visit to the Museo di Storia Naturale dell’Università di Pisa. Located within the historic Certosa di Calci monastery near Pisa, the museum is one of Italy’s oldest natural history museums and features extensive exhibitions covering zoology, palaeontology, geology and biodiversity.

Students can explore fascinating displays including fossils, dinosaur skeletons, minerals, marine life and taxidermy collections, while learning about evolution, ecosystems and the history of life on Earth. One of the highlights is the impressive Cetacean Gallery, home to one of Europe’s largest collections of whale and dolphin skeletons. The museum combines historical surroundings with modern scientific interpretation, creating an engaging and educational experience for school groups.
