In a 90 minute guided tour students will examine several historical portraits on display at the King’s Gallery, then develop their own drawing skills under the guidance of a professional artist. They will work in the gallery space to analyse techniques, materials and styles used by artists such as John Singer Sargent and Franz Xaver Winterhalter, explore how sketchbooks support observational study, and take part in hands-on drawing activities within the exhibition.
