Madrid Welcome Opening of Apple Flagship Store in Emblematic City Building

Business and media teachers looking to organise a school trip for their students should look no further as Computer giant Apple have announced they are to open one of their biggest stores so far in Madrid’s iconic Tio Pepe building on the Puerta del Sol. School trips to Madrid will welcome the addition as the capital city in recent years has become more and more a centre of innovation and commerce.

According to Spanish Newspaper El Pais, Apple will occupy the entirety of the landmark building in the centre of Madrid with it serving as a hub for the company’s operation in the area. The historic building which is currently being restored and renovated will operate as both a retail store and in an administrative capacity as offices. Madrid mayor Ruiz-Gallardon said in a statement that the store, which he believed would be larger than the Apple flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue, was a major boom for Madrid.
