The former Stasi Prison, now the Hohenschönhausen Memorial, offers a powerful insight into life under the East German dictatorship.

Used by the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) from 1945 until 1989, the prison was a place where thousands of political prisoners were detained and interrogated.

Today, much of the site remains as it was when the prison closed. On a guided tour, your group will be shown the original cells, interrogation rooms and prison yards. These tours provide first-hand accounts of the methods of surveillance, intimidation and psychological control used by the Stasi, helping students to understand how fear and secrecy shaped life in the GDR.
