Santillana del Mar

The historic medieval village of Santillana del Mar, sure to excite any student.  Known as a living museum, this village was built between the 12th and 17th Century, developed around the Santa Juliana collegiate church.  Home to towers, a medieval square, Town Hall, Don Borjo’s Tower and traditional houses known as ‘casonas’.  Add to this the locals, who normally decorate the village with flowered balconies, nooks and alleyways to explore, traditional shops, this is great way to spend half a day or more.

Nearby Altamira Caves is also a great addition if in the area, being just 2km away.
