Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art
The Mario Mauroner Contemporary Art Gallery in Salzburg was founded in 1972 and later expanded in 2004 with the completion of an additional 1200 ² m exhibition space which was spread across 2 floors. This new space was commissioned to hold large scale sculptural pieces which the gallery lists as one of its main focuses and primary features. As well as sculpture the gallery features a large collection of works by contemporary artists working creatively with current trends. The gallery also boasts a basement gallery named ‘roomnumberOne’ which features the creative works of younger artists emerging into the art industry. In 2014 an interdisciplinary space was also opened which features projects and creative works from varying artists and disciplines. Students can expect to see works from outstanding international artists such as, Carmen Calvo, Jan Fabre, FERRO, Kendell Geers, Jaume Plensa, Barthélémy Toguo and many more.
