La Lonja isn’t just about trade — it’s a story in stone of Valencia’s cultural and economic rise during the 1400s, reflecting how a medieval city became a Mediterranean powerhouse.

Step back into Valencia’s Golden Age with a visit to La Lonja de la Seda, one of Europe’s finest examples of late Gothic civil architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Built between the late 15th and early 16th centuries, La Lonja was the heart of Valencia’s bustling silk trade. As you explore the building you’ll be awed by the soaring Sala de Contratación (Trading Hall), with its dramatic twisted columns and vaulted ceilings.  Wander through the ornate courtyard known as the Patio de los Naranjos.
