Kunstlerhaus

Kunstlerhaus

This art exhibition building was built between 1865 and 1868 by the Austrian Artists’ Society as an event and exhibition venue and has since earned its name as a cultural centre demonstrating the rich traditions of Austria. Since the late 1940’s the building has also housed a cinema and theatre which hosts screenings and performances from international, local, group and independent artists. These facilities also play host to screenings during the annual film festival. The exhibitions housed in the Kunstlerhaus focus on contemporary art, architecture, media, film and interdisciplinary collaborations with the Association of Austrian Aritsts representing disciplines such as architecture, fine arts, painting, sculpting and media. The variety of works makes this visit perfect for all art groups, promising to have something intriguing and inspiring for every student no matter their discipline.
