Glacier 3000 - Pedestrian Ticket

Glacier 3000 - Pedestrian Ticket
Show all photos

Take your group from the valley floor to almost 3,000 metres in a cable car ride, and watch the Swiss Alps open up. On a clear day the view stretches to the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc and more than twenty other peaks over 4,000 metres. There is real snow here all year round, even in high summer, which makes this one of the few places your students can stand on a glacier all year round.

The pedestrian ticket is the heart of the day. It covers the return cable car journey and gives your group access to four activities at the top, all included in the one rate. It is an easy place to spend several hours.

Included in the Pedestrian Ticket

  • Return cable car A fifteen minute ride from the valley station at Col du Pillon up to Scex Rouge, with cabins leaving every twenty minutes.
  • Peak Walk by Tissot The only suspension bridge in the world to link two mountain peaks. It is 107 metres long and the views are genuinely thrilling, so it is worth knowing that students with a fear of heights may prefer to watch from the viewing platform.
  • Ice Express chairlift This carries your group down onto the glacier itself, opening up the Glacier Walk and the Snow Fun Park below.
  • Glacier Walk A marked route across the glacier to the Refuge l'Espace, with views down into the Derborence Valley and across to the Valais. It is around 5km there and back, and firmer underfoot than it looks, so walking boots are the sensible choice.
  • Snow Fun Park tobogganing in a dedicated area, open in line with the cable car hours.
