Flamenco at Poble Espanyol
Show all photos

Experience the passion and rhythm of Spain's most iconic art form with a flamenco workshop or private show inside Poble Espanyol, the open-air architectural museum on Montjuïc Hill.

Both experiences include access to Poble Espanyol for the entire day, so groups can combine their flamenco session with time exploring the recreated streets, plazas, artisan workshops and museums of the "Spanish Village." It's a wonderful cultural complement to Languages and cross-curricular trips.

Flamenco Workshop

Flamenco Immersion

A dynamic, hands-on introduction to flamenco. Students discover the two types of handclap that drive the rhythm, seca (sharp) and sorda (muted), and practise accompanying the music alongside the guitar. After the workshop, the group enjoys a live performance by a flamenco dancer, joining in by marking the rhythm with their own handclaps, for an up-close and authentic experience of the art form. Includes drinks (water, soft drinks). Runs for around 40 minutes.

Private Show

An Exclusive Performance at Tablao de Carmen

An exclusive and fully private flamenco performance at the iconic Tablao de Carmen, a historic venue inside Poble Espanyol created as a tribute to the legendary flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya. Groups can choose from a 30-minute show with four artists or a 40-minute show with five, performed in a private patio or tablao space. Includes drinks (water, soft drinks).
