Culinary Workshops at Poble Espanyol

Culinary Workshops at Poble Espanyol
Show all photos

Bring Spain's most famous dishes to life with a hands-on culinary workshop inside Poble Espanyol, the open-air architectural museum on Montjuïc Hill. Led by friendly chefs in Spanish and English, students roll up their sleeves to cook, taste and discover the traditions behind classic Catalan and Spanish cuisine.

Every workshop includes access to Poble Espanyol for the entire day, so groups can pair their cooking experience with time exploring the recreated streets, plazas, artisan workshops and museums of the "Spanish Village."

Choose from the workshops below. Each is a fixed group experience, with the same menu selected in advance for the whole party.

Spanish Omelette

A fun, hands-on activity in which students prepare the classic tortilla de patatas step by step, combining gastronomy with a healthy dose of teamwork. The experience includes pan con tomate (bread with tomato) and a drink. A great introductory taster at around 40 minutes.

Coca de Recapte & Catalan Tradition

A deeper dive into traditional Catalan cuisine, where students prepare coca de recapte, choosing between coca with sobrasada, cheese and honey, or cheese, pear and walnuts. They'll also learn the art of drinking from a porrón, a quirky Catalan tradition. The session includes pan con tomate, patatas bravas, croquettes, dessert and a drink served in a porrón. Runs for around one hour.

Cook Your Own Paella

Spain's most iconic dish, cooked by the students themselves. Working in teams and guided by the chef, the group follows the recipe to prepare their chosen paella: vegetable, chicken or seafood. The hour-long experience includes the explanation and participation, a plate of paella, pan con tomate and a drink.

Discover Spanish Tapas

A dynamic journey through the history and tradition of Spanish tapas. Through the chef's lively explanations, students discover the origins and stories behind each one while tasting a spread of Serrano ham, Manchego cheese, chicken croquettes, Spanish omelette, patatas bravas and tuna in sauce, with mineral water or a soft drink. Around one hour, and a brilliant way to sample a little of everything.
