City Tax Information for Educational Tours
City Tax (also often referred to as Tourist Tax) is commonplace in many cities across Europe and worldwide and is becoming increasingly common.
Below we have compiled the most up to date city tax information we have. In almost all cases, City Tax must be paid on arrival and in many cases, this must be paid in cash. Please budget for this in addition to your tour price.
Please note city taxes can and do often change, so prices quoted below are for guide purposes below and any increased in city tax will be payable by yourselves.
City Tax is payable by all members of your party (unless stated otherwise).
If your travel destination is not listed below, we cannot guarantee a City Tax is not imposed. This form of taxation is becoming increasingly commonplace.
ITALY
Rome: €4 per person per night for 2- and 3-star hotels
Sorrento: €3 per person per night for all hotels
Florence: €1.50 per person per night per hotel star (e.g. a 3-star hotel would be €4.50 per night per person)
Venice: €3.50 per person per night for 3-star hotels, €4.50 per person per night for 4-star hotels
SPAIN
Barcelona: €0.75 per person per night for 3-star hotels, €1.25 per person per night for 4 star hotels
GERMANY
Berlin: Tourist tax is exempt for school groups provided they complete the city tax form.
FRANCE:
Paris: City tax in Paris can no longer be pre-paid. This must be paid upon arrival, applicable for anyone aged 18+, €1.88 per person per night.
This does not apply to hotels in Disneyland Resort.
USA:
City tax is included in your tour cost, with nothing to pay on arrival.
JAPAN:
City tax is included in your tour cost, with nothing to pay on arrival.
NETHERLANDS:
Amsterdam: City tax is included in your tour cost, with nothing to pay on arrival.
