Travel Update on Airline Fuel Disruption

None of our trips have been affected and your trip is going ahead as planned. Here's everything you need to know.

We understand recent news about fuel shortages and airline route changes may be causing concern around upcoming school trips. However, please be assured that none of our flights or trips have been affected. We remain in close contact with our airline partners and are monitoring the situation carefully.

If your airline cancels a flight

The airline is legally required to get your group to your destination. That means rebooking on the next available flight, or on a different carrier if needed. If rerouting doesn't work for your group, you're entitled to a full refund of the flight cost. Should your group need to wait overnight for a replacement, the airline covers accommodation, meals and reasonable expenses, even when the cancellation is caused by something outside their control, such as airspace closures.

When airlines cut routes, they tend to start with their busiest ones. More flights a day means more options for moving passengers around, so the routes you'd expect to be most at risk are usually the easiest to sort out.

What our ABTA membership means for you

You're not on your own with this. As an ABTA member and your package tour operator, we have a duty to put things right if your trip is affected. In practice, that means finding a workable alternative together: different flights, a shifted schedule, or something else entirely. And if the changes are significant enough that you don't want to go ahead, you're entitled to a full refund of the package price, not just the flight.
