Nelson Mandela once said If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart. Language is the gateway to every culture and the limits of your language will always be the limits of your world. Languages school trips are an exceptional way to become immersed in the culture of people and even though learning another language can at times be a struggle for some, it will also be one of the most rewarding things a student will ever do.
Here at Adaptable Travel we provide a fantastic range of Languages school trips for all students. What we've put together below is a collection of some of the fantastically enriching trips we have on offer in order to stretch the boundaries of your students’ worlds…
When planning a Languages school trip to Lille, definitely the best place to start is the Old Town & Market. Students will have the opportunity to explore vintage French craft markets, cathedrals and art galleries. From there students can visit La Gaufre du Pays Flamand, a vintage waffle shop that makes waffles in the traditional Flemish style - a tasting at the end is included of course. For our Lille trip we also provide a range of materials for KS3 students including workbooks and teacher resources so that students can get the most out of their French language school trip.
This unique Languages school trip will give students a fantastic snapshot of German history and culture both past and present. One attraction where students can feel this history of Berlin come alive is the Berlin wall and documentation centre. Students will be able to examine sections of the 96 mile barrier and get a sense of how it divided a nation. If there's the opportunity to plan this Languages school trip in December then we thoroughly recommend a visit to Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church Christmas Market, famous for over 100 different stalls and over 70 different fairground rides. It really gives you a sense of the German market tradition and how much further the UK has to go to catch up!
As the capital city of Spain there is no better place for students to experience the epicentre of Spanish culture than in Madrid. The oldest reference to Madrid can be found in Arabic writings as 'magerit' or ‘the place of abundant water’. With tours of the Royal Palace and El Museo del Prado, students won't have the time to think of home. Also for those football fans amongst you we also provide a tour of the Bernabeu stadium, home to possible the most famous team in the world, Real Madrid. Hala Madrid!
With over 1.3 billion people, a thriving economy and growing regional influence, the 21st century may very well belong to China so what better place to take students for a Languages school trip? There’s such an array of tours and visits to go on, it's difficult to distil them down! One of our favourites is our trip to Tiananmen Square & The Forbidden City - it gives students a sense of the history and culture of China with Tiananmen Tower and The Great Hall of the People. This is all facilitated by expert Chinese Tour Guides that will walk students through the intricacies of Chinese culture and answer any burning questions they might have.
