The International Centre of Photography

Explore the power of photography at the International Center of Photography (ICP) on New York’s Lower East Side. With exhibitions spanning documentary, fashion, photojournalism and contemporary photography, students can discover how photographers use images to tell stories, document society and shape the way we understand the world. The museum’s changing exhibitions provide fresh perspectives on photography, culture and current issues.
For school groups, a self-guided visit allows students to explore the galleries at their own pace, with opportunities to discuss photographic techniques, visual storytelling and the ideas behind the work on display. ICP also has a dedicated photography school, making it an inspiring stop for Photography, Art & Design, Media Studies and Film groups looking to explore photography as both an art form and a powerful form of communication.
Museum hours: Monday–Wednesday & Friday–Sunday 10:30–18:30; Thursday 10:30–20:00.
