Summer Palace School Visit
Show all photos
The Summer Palace is a former Imperial Palace and garden dating back to 1750 during China’s Qing Dynasty. The Palace, gardens and grounds stretch over an enormous 2.9² km and boast beautiful scenery including tranquil lakes, rolling greenery and exquisite traditional architecture. It was originally intended to be a luxurious garden for Royal families to use, later becoming the primary residence to many of the royals. The original palace was rampaged by Anglo-French Allied forces and destroyed in a fire. The replacement was built around the original design in 1888.
