Friet Museum

This absolutely unique museum is the only one of its kind in the entire world, founded in 2008 and dedicated to the history of potatoes and the iconic ‘Belgian Potato Fries’. This museum aims to answer the pressing questions about one of everyone’s favourite indulgences such as where, why and how potatoes were turned into the fries we know and love today and why Belgium is so renowned for these delicious treats. Aside from being an utterly mouth-watering experience this museum is greatly educational and extremely fun and unique. Documenting the history of the potato and humanity's use of this wonder crop, which originated in Peru over 10,000 years ago! The museum itself is housed in one of the most breath-taking and historic buildings in Bruges and was created by the same names behind the Choco-story Museum, which features Belgium’s other culinary expertise; Chocolate.
