Tate Modern

Tate Modern

Tate Modern is London’s collection of modern art, housed in one of the coolest buildings you’ll see across London’s cityscape. Suited to the modern and contemporary art within its walls the building itself is blissfully minimal and effortlessly cool, enough to amaze your students alone! Inside the walls of concrete and colour is the museum’s collection of contemporary art dating back to 1500. Amongst the names at the Tate Modern are Dali, Picasso, Matisse, Rothko, Warhol and many, many more. The Tate Family of museums (Tate Britain, Tate St Ives, Tate Liverpool) holds both permanent and temporary exhibitions with many on rotation between the four, giving as much exposure to each collection as possible. Home to some of the most interesting, unique and ground-breaking work from international contemporary artists the Tate Modern promises to always have something new and exciting to inspire and amaze any student. The contrast between the museum’s industrial appearance, architecture and space and the bright colourful art it houses serves as an artistic nod, setting the tone for the rest of the experience. Groups can also access the viewing balcony at the very top of the building’s tower, where they can experience breath-taking views of London’s Bankside and the River Thames.
