Shakespeare's Birthplace Pass

Shakespeare's Birthplace Pass

Visit the place where William Shakespeare was born and lived with his eight siblings and parents at this house on Henley Street. This historic site has been welcoming visitors for over 250 years and is a rare and tantalising glimpse into the early like of William Shakespeare. Your pupils can trace the footsteps of the famous playwright, in the very rooms where he grew up and spent much of his personal life. Groups can view where he slept, dined, played and socialised with his family, as well as the backdrop to the first five years of his marriage to Anne Hathaway. As well as a unique opportunity to explore the house he grew up in, your students can also hear tales of his family life and discover rare and exclusive artefacts from the Shakespeare’s Birthplace Trust.

This tour can also be extended to include additional places of significance in Shakespeare’s life, such as Mary Arden’s Cottage, Nashes House and New Place, Halls Croft and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage.
