As you may already know, the current curriculum for ICT will be replaced by ‘Computer Science and Programming’. The decision to change the curriculum has been said to help spark interest within web design, computer programming and the whole of the digital industry. With students and teachers agreeing the current ICT curriculum does not meet the demands of an increasingly digital world, the education secretary has announced the department must be radically revamped!  This has seen the birth of the new Computer Science and Programming curriculum.

With curriculum changes developing, here at Adaptable Travel we have many visits to discover which are perfect for students to embrace the new curriculum programme.  If you’re considering a study trip to London, home to Bletchley Park, now is a fantastic time for all your ICT students to get involved. With visits to the incredible National Museum of Computing, which ranks as one the top computer museums in the world, your students can embark upon a journey through the history of computing, and the future plans for technology throughout many exhibits.  There is plenty to do on an ICT focused trip to London with Adaptable Travel, including visits to Eurogamer Expo ICT, a huge technology event not to be missed.  In addition, the British Music Experience offers some fantastic digital workshops, where your students can use the latest technology within the music industry and learn how gadgets have adapted to the digital world.

Alton Towers now offers a fascinating ICT educational day, where students can learn why technology is so important for the theme park to operate day in day out. Your students can even check out all amazing rollercoasters onsite.

Geneva is also a superb choice to enhance your students in a new digital world.  The ICT Discovery centre in Geneva offers a tour of the digital world past and future.  Add to this a trip to CERN, the home of the Internet and home to some of the most powerful computers on Earth.

If you are looking further afield - surely Tokyo has to be a consideration and one of Adaptable Travel's most popular ICT school trips. Tokyo is home to the huge annual Game Show event, where your students can explore technology within the gaming world, and learn how computer entertainment and technological innovation has developed. There are also many more computer focused visits, including the Electronic District, the Asimo Robot, the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation and many more!
