A new super school costing £43m will be built in Rowley Regis in the West Midlands. Sandwell Council have given the project the green light to build the new school and work on the former Rowley College site.
This is the first stage in Sandwell's pilot scheme for the borough’s £370m Building Schools for the Future programme, which will see up to 20 Sandwell secondary schools transformed over the next decade.
Council leader Bill Thomas commented "This is a really exciting time for Sandwell, and now we are all ready to exploit this superb opportunity to create modern schools of which we can all be proud".
Sandwell Council ultimate aim is to improve the education experience for all pupils.
