Leeds is set to build a new generation of 'green' schools, with the first set to be the redevelopment of Bankside Primary School.
A range of green measures will be put in place in the school to ensure that the school is one of the greenest in the country. Coun Richard Harker, executive board member for education at Leeds City Council, said: "This 21st century learning environment will be the greenest school in the city.
"As well as being kinder on the environment it will help to provide our young people with the skills, knowledge and experience needed for the best start to their adult lives."
