Apiculture de la Perce Hayes (honey farm)
Your group can visit the bee hives, learn about the life of bees and the honey that is produced by the hive. Maximum group size of 50.
Bayeux Tapestry
This unique piece of history is located in Bayeux, where you can read the tale told by the Bayeux Tapestry -
The story of William the Conqueror and Harold, Earl of Wessex, the men who led the Norman and Saxon armies in 1066. William's defeat of Harold at the Battle of Hastings ensured the success of the Norman invasion of England.
Calvados Boulard (distillery)
Arguably the most important distillery in Normandy, with over 2500 litres of Calvados being produced here daily. Your group can learn about brewing and the secrets of distillation and ageing.
Chocolatrium Michel Cluizel
A popular attraction for school trips, with a museum that shows the history of chocolate-making illustrated through texts, photos and comic strips in French, and a film in French or English on the history of Chocolats Cluizel and the process of turning cocoa into sweets and chocolates.
Fromagerie ‘La Valaine’ (cheese)
Your school group can learn about the farm's animals, breeding and feeding techniques. You can also see the processing of goat’s milk to produce cheese. This is followed by a testing session. Group sizes are between 20 and 110 people.
National Institute of Bakery
Famous in the Normandy region for its fine production of breads, your group will be shown bread making demonstrations, a video on the bread making process and be given a tour of the factory. The maximum group size is 25.
Rouen Wholesale Market
This large fish, fruit and vegetable wholesale centre covers seventeen hectares of land. Take a guided tour to gain an insight into the market where hypermarkets and other large retailers come to purchase their supplies for Rouen and the surrounding area. The visit is in French however, an interpreter can be arranged.
Les Jambons d’Anton (hams)
Your school group will able to see the processes involved in producing smoked hams, from salting, smoking, deboning and packaging. The maximum group size is 50.
