SPEAKER 1: SHARRON DAVIES (MBE)
OLYMPIC SWIMMER & BROADCASTER
Having first swum for Britain at the extraordinary age of 11 and competing in the Olympics aged 13, Sharron later went on to win Olympic, Commonwealth and European medals. She more recently gained youth fame on ITV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’. Sharron will tell her remarkable story and show how her talent has lead onto a successful broadcasting career, twice being voted British Press Sportswoman of the Year.
Sharron will be there to meet pupils, host a 45 minute seminar with Q&A and host the Question of Sport section.
ICONIC OLYMPIC 400M ATHLETE
One of Britain's greatest ever 400m athletes, Derek is able to bring a unique perspective to what it takes to set goals and succeed. Derek had a hugely successful career that brought Commonwealth, European and World Gold medals. He has a great Olympic story to tell, that has been added to the Olympic Hall of Fame.
Derek will be there to meet pupils, host a 45 minute seminar with Q&A and be a team captain on the Question of Sport section.
COMPETING BRITISH OLYMPIC LONG JUMPER
Known as one of the best long jumpers in the world today, Jade has Commonwealth and European silver medlas to her name, and aims to compete at London 2012. Jade recently shot to fame as a contestant on BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, and is now a popular figure amongst the UK public.
Jade will be there to meet pupils, host a 45 minute seminar with Q&A and be a team captain on the Question of Sport section.

DOUBLE OLYMPIC CHAMPION IN DECATHALON
With four world records, two Olympic gold medals, Daley Thompson is often considered the greatest decathlete the world has ever seen, and a hugely likeable character.
Daley will be there to meet pupils and be a team captain on the Question of Sport section.

With the 2012 games fast approaching, take a tour of the spectacular Olympic site in London and examine their design, their impact and their future use. Your tour will be with a specially trained Blue Badge Guide.
