World's top amusement parks

There are a multitude of amusement parks all over the world to enjoy, perfect for holidays and fun-filled school-trips.

Can't decide which one to visit? Check out the top five amusement parks, with something on offer to suit all styles – whether it's the teacup rides or the fearsome roller coasters.

The most visited amusement park in the world, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is also the world's largest, at 27,443 acres. There are four theme parks, including Magic Kingdom and Epcot, two water parks and 24 resort hotels on the property.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is the UK's most visited amusement park, attracting more than 5.5 million visitors. It boasts 10 roller coasters, one of which, the steel Pepsi Max Big One coaster, the tallest coaster country. The park also offers four water rides, so prepare to get soaked!

Universal Orlando Resort is home to two theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, as well as the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, a recreation of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and the Harry Potter universe.

Everland in South Korea is the country's largest park. In addition to a water park, Everland also features five roller coasters and five themed areas - Global Fair, Zoo-Topia, European Adventure, Magic Land and American Adventure.

Europa Park in Germany is the second most visited amusement park in Europe, behind Disneyland Paris, with 4.2 million visitors in 2009. It features 15 different themed zones, many named after various European countries, aswell as hotels and campsites.
