2012 Olympic tickets go on sale

16/03/2011
Five hundred days before the London 2012 Olympic kick off, tickets for the event have gone on sale.

Prices for the sporting events vary from an affordable £20 to a huge £2,012 for some of the finals. More than six million tickets are now up for sale on the London 2012 website, and will be available for the next six weeks.

Chairman of London 2012, Lord Coe, said, “If you look at the way we have put the price points together I think we’ve done that in a really smart way. I think those prices are affordable.

“Yes, the big ticket events are always going to be the big ticket events, but there are plenty of opportunities to see the big stars at the lower price points,” he added.

Lord Coe went on to say that he had no concerns that the Olympics would be anything other than a total sell-out.

Every application for tickets made between now and the closing date of 26 April will be treated in exactly the same way, with everyone having a fair chance of obtaining one.

Log onto www.tickets.london2012.com to apply for tickets, or pick up a paper from any Lloyds TSB in England, Bank of Scotland in Scotland or Northern Ireland libraries between 15 March and 25 April and apply that way.
