London Eye 10 Years Old
09/03/2010
Now attracting over 6 million visitors per year, the London Eye is 10 years old today (9th March 2010).

The 135m high wheel located on London’s South Bank is today one of London’s main tourist attractions, with over 6 million people taking a ‘flight’ on the London Eye each year.

Husband and wife duo Mr Marks and Ms Barfield conceived the idea in the early nineties to mark the Millennium. Originally met with scepticism, the London Eye finally found the backing and opened just 3 months after the turning of the Millennium. It quickly became an icon of the London skyline, and is now one of London’s premier sights.

The London Eye is hugely popular with our educational groups visiting London on school trips and study tours. If you are planning an educational trip to London, contact Adaptable Travel today to start organising your next school or college trip, and take a ‘flight’ on the London Eye.
