The Venice Biennale returns in 2013 – offering you the chance to arrange a unique school trip or study trip that will truly inspire and astound your students. This amazing event which runs from June through to November 2013 features work from some of the best artists the world has to offer. Around 30 different countries converge in Venice every 2 years to showcase art from their home-grown talent; each has its own purpose built pavilion which is used to display their exhibits.
This international art exhibition, often described as the “Olympics of Art” will provide students with a unique insight into a wide range of different cultures and their distinctive practises that govern how their artwork is created and formed. There is no better way to learn about art than to see and experience it first-hand. The Venice Biennale brings together the very best from around the world to celebrate and embrace diversity.
All this is set in the Breath-taking city of Venice which provides the perfect backdrop for the Biennale with its beautiful canals and long winding streets. The majority of the event takes place over two locations, The Giardini and Arsenale. The Giardini is home to National pavilions and is also the location of the Central Pavilion which is used to host many of the Biennales main events. The Arsenale is used for modern exhibits along with live theatre and dance shows.
