![]() College Hair Convention October 2009 has gone down as one of the most successful years ever with group’s feedback giving a positive response to all aspects of the tour. This year the majority of groups chose to stay at the ever popular 4* Hilton Metropole on their trip to London, which is ideally located just a 10 minute walk from the shopping Haven, Oxford street. Alternatively a number of college groups choose our lower cost package and stayed at the ACE Hostel in Kensington on their college trip to London. This bright and cheery hostel is equipped with excellent facilities and is the ideal base for a trip to London.
As usual the convention was kicked off in style on the Sunday evening with the world renowned Alternative Hair Show. Set in the prestigious Royal Albert Hall, this year’s theme was Kaleidoscope and this set the stage for one of the most vibrant and colourful shows ever. One happy group leader from Selby stated; “The alternative hair show was to inspire and motivate students, and to help them understand how international the hair industry is. It gives them something to aspire to in the future even if it was a level above their current learning the experience was amazing for them and the venue outstanding”. We are also thrilled to announce that feedback from this year’s event is that a staggering £175,000 was raised for Leukaemia research, making the event both important and influential in the hairdressing world as well as helping an extremely worthwhile charity. For the second half of the convention students attended Salon International at London’s Excel. This is always a great way to further inspire students with live shows, product launches and the opportunity to stock up on all the equipment they need to further their education. With the biggest names in hairdressing showcasing their talents and exhibitors showing the latest in hairdressing technology students came away bursting with inspiration and enthusiasm which was a great way to end an enjoyable weekend for all. This truly is the ultimate hairdressing tour for school and college groups. |
