Frequently Asked Questions

Contact Numbers

Q: When will I receive the various emergency contact numbers relevant for our tour?
A: All relevant emergency numbers will be given to group leaders before departure, the Adaptable emergency number is listed on all client itineraries.

Q: I have booked a coach tour, will I get a contact number for the coach driver?
A: Coach driver contact numbers (where applicable) will be emailed a minimum of 24 hours before departure.

Vouchers & Tickets

Q: If we book excursions with Adaptable Travel are tickets provided in advance?
A: Some excursion will provide tickets or vouchers and some will provide reference numbers, in all cases we will advise you in detail on your final itinerary the exact method of entry.

Insurance

Q: Not all of our group want to take out insurance as they have their own; can just a few of our group take it out?
A: Yes. As many or as few people can take out our insurance as is needed, just let us know the names of the group members who would like insurance.

Q: What type of insurance cover will I get?
A: You will get Full Comprehensive Travel Insurance for the duration of the tour, which is both medical and personal cover.

Q: When does insurance cover start?
A: The insurance cover starts from the minute that you let us know you want insurance and we receive your booking form, covering group members for many eventualities that prevent them from travelling on the tour, such as illness.

Q: What do I do if I need to make a claim?
A: If you take out insurance through Adaptable Travel, and need to make a claim, all claims should be made directly through?

Q: I have a EHIC (European Health Insurance Card, formerly E111), do I need travel insurance as well?
A: The EHIC covers you for medical treatment whilst abroad in Europe. However, it does not cover you for all medical emergencies such as repatriation or illness causing cancellation prior to departure. Furthermore, our full comprehensive travel insurance covers for additional factors not covered by the EHIC such as loss of personal belongings. If you need to obtain a EHIC, you can apply online at www.ehic.org.uk/Internet/startApplication.do

Passports & Visas

Q: Do I need a passport if travelling on a coach tour within Europe?
A: Yes. A full passport is required for each person travelling, whether it be on coach or by air. To apply for a passport or for more information, please visit the Home Office Identity and Passport Service website on www.ips.gov.uk

Q: What is the minimum amount of time needed until the passport expiry?
A: General advice is that group members need a minimum of 6 months to expiry date at the date of travel on their passports. However, some airlines/countries are more flexible; in which case you should contact the airline or relevant embassy direct to check.

Q: One or more of the group is not a British Citizen, do they need a Visa?
A: Non-British citizens should contact the Embassy of the destination country (and all countries they will be travelling through). Unfortunately, Embassies will not get involved with tour operators, and insist on the group member involved contacting them directly. Therefore, please ask the relevant group member(s) to contact the relevant embassy directly. A Full list of Foreign Embassies in the UK can be at the FCO website www.fco.gov.uk.
